Embracing the Unknown with Experience and Vision | Page 1

Starting Rex Martech was an intuitive leap, blending the excitement of new challenges with 23 years of business experience. Despite the complexity of migrating solutions and navigating legalities, I'm confident in overcoming these obstacles step by step.

Welcome to day 1 from my new business diary! Here, I’ll be sharing my journey of building Rex Martech from the ground up. You’ll get an insider’s view of the highs, lows, and everything in between—from achieving technical milestones to navigating complex legal and financial challenges.

Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur or simply curious, this will give you a raw, authentic look at the process of launching a tech startup.

In addition, I will also share my LinkedIn posts from the previous week (listed below). Feel free to join the conversations and express your thoughts.

A Page From My Business Diary ~

Embarking on the journey of establishing Rex Martech was less a well-orchestrated plan and more an intuitive leap. The decision came as an epiphany, and I acted on it promptly, without any premeditated course of action.

Building Rex Martech, One Step at a Time…

As I navigate this uncharted territory, I find myself oscillating between two feelings: one of freedom, because I have the liberty to shape this venture's trajectory, and the other of slight dissatisfaction, stemming from the desire to do much more than my current circumstances allow.

Despite the mixed emotions, I am tirelessly working on a comprehensive plan, divided into manageable stages, to guide our day-to-day strategy and operations at Rex Martech.

One of the immediate decisions I need to make is which products to introduce to the community first. I’ve asked myself the following questions: Which have the greatest market appeal and potential for success? Which can I get to market the fastest?

We have many technology solutions at Rex Direct and would love to migrate them all, but doing them all at once is impossible. Upon deeper inspection, I realized a phased approach is best. For example, to keep the two businesses separate, I need to renegotiate contracts with third parties for some tools to legalize their usage for Rex Martech. This is a process that will take time.

As I peel back the layers, I realize attempting to handle multiple aspects simultaneously is overwhelming. It's a significant challenge, but one I am prepared to tackle, one step at a time with my team.

Starting Anew, But Not From Scratch…

Stepping into the unknown isn't new to me, but this time it's different. There's excitement in the uncertainty.

Starting a tech company is an energizing challenge, one that brings back memories of when I first ventured into the world of business 23 years ago. Back then, I didn’t have a roadmap, but through determination, I built something lasting. I have a similar mindset now for Rex Martech.

When I recently shared my initial concerns with a colleague about my ability to run a technology company, he said: "Did you know how to start a marketing company?" When I said no, he replied, "Well, you figured it out. You'll figure this out too."

Yes, I’m facing new terrain, but this time, I have years of experience guiding me. It’s like stepping into a new level of a familiar game—different obstacles, but the same core skills. I understand the fundamentals of running a business, managing challenges, and problem-solving.

Now, it’s about refining the specifics: the tech, the innovation, the elements that make this venture unique. Unlike 23 years ago, I’m not starting from scratch. I’ve built a strong foundation, and the next step is building a solid plan to navigate this new space.

I’m approaching this with confidence and curiosity, knowing that owning a business is a journey. I just need to set course, have a destination, and meet goals along the way. Also, to manage the risks so that it's not more than I can handle. To anyone thinking of making a bold move, remember that your past experiences equip you more than you might realize.

Don't let the fear of the unknown hold you back from pursuing your ambitions. You'll find your way in time. That's the magic of diving into something new that you're passionate about.
